More Vegas Vegan Eats

They’re hitched!

Just a few minutes after the groom and I shared some silly moments

I pronounced them legally in love and they were walking down the aisle together as a married couple.

Now back to Vegas vegan eats…

Before I share more of my food finds I wanted to tell you about a few places some local Vegas vegans have recommended to me via email, Twitter and comments on my Vegas post yesterday.

Several people suggested  I check out the blog Eating Vegan in Vegas. I did and it’s an excellent resource! A few people specifically recommended I try these three places:

Maybe I’ll get to one, two or all three before we leave. Meanwhile, back at Wynn (specifically Encore), we enjoyed breakfast and dinner.

We went to the Society Cafe for breakfast. Too many people insisted I have vegan French toast to ignore them. So I did. But I also like vegetables for breakfast so I added some by ordering a {vegan} bloody mary (you have to ask to have it made vegan, which means hold the Worcestershire sauce and/or clamato juice) and a side of sautéed veggies.

A completely divine breakfast! While eating, I spied a man in a white jacket and grabbed him.

Brian is the Executive Sous Chef for all of the Wynn and Encore restaurants! I thanked him profusely for the vegan options at each venue. He said that they loved offering the vegan menus and that they get great feedback. He also insisted that I come back today for their burger, fries and milkshake – all vegan – and he said the Steve Wynn himself loved the burger!

After the wedding we returned to Encore.  I know, I know. Listen, it’s right down the street from our hotel, I can get a vegan meal, what more does a girl need? Other than some fine-dining at Botero, which boasts a five-course vegan tasting menu!

The meal was exquisite and I thank my friend Amie (of Vegan Van in Denver) for suggesting Botero.

Today will mostly be spent in the hotel and / or a cafe – lots of awesome client and consulting work to do!

  1. Awesome! I lived in Vegas for a while, started my blogging “career” there, and just recently had a chance to get back there to try some food at The Wynn as well!

Sorry for the shameless blug, but I really enjoyed Botero. I ordered the tofu (I was curious more than anything) but I really wish I’d tried the Gardein and empanadas. The arepas were great, but WAY too filling for an appetizer. Or I’m just a wuss. 🙂

Wish I still lived there so I could’ve caught up with you to say hello! One of my favorite places is Paymon’s Mediterranean Cafe (there’s 2 location, one on Maryland Pkwy/Flamingo, the other on Sahara), not vegetarian, but has a TON of veg options.

    Happy travels!!

      1. If you’re still there, try Sensi at the Bellagio. It’s one of my favorites – not only do we go there every time we’re in town, but they put the risotto on the menu because of me! They never let me down, and I always leave gut-busting full “up to here” !
