I learned of some vegan events this week and wanted to share them with you.
- Tickets are on sale for the annual ThanksLiving event at Woodstock Farm Annual Sanctuary and, from what I understand, these tickets sell out FAST! On October 16, 2011 Terry Hope Romero will be the master chef for this vegan feast which will raise important funds for WFAS. My husband and I will be there. Will you? (Do you think they will let Clover sit with us?)
- There’s a Vegan Cooking Retreat in Tennessee in October that you might want to consider. I only know about it because my friend Bianca presented at and reviewed the February retreat. I wish I could go!
- The fabulous Colleen Patrick Goudreau will be in New York on October 18 for Animals in the Arts. Colleen will “share film clips, pieces of literature, and works of visual art that will change the lens through which we view animals in the arts.” There will be food, conversation and she will be signing copies of her new book The 30-Day Vegan Challenge.
Here’s a recap of what happened on the blog:
- MONDAY: A Labor Day Summer Round-Up: Vegan cooking school, travel eats, gardening and blogging conferences
- TUESDAY: Red Beans, Kale & Sun-dried Tomato Stew
- WEDNESDAY: The Oneness-Fountain-Heart Restaurant: A vegetarian (and vegan!) treasure in Queens, NY
- THURSDAY: I tried to “bake” my first vegan bread
- FRIDAY: Vegan “Mexican Sausage”
- SATURDAY: I won a So Delicious Dairy Free Coconut Milk Smoothie Kit at Vida Vegan Con!
I hope you had a great week!

I know Terry has been working really hard on the menu for ThanksLiving – it is going to be amazing.
October is also Vegan MoFo!

Thank you for posting about Animals in the Arts. We look forward to meeting you.
