Vegan Holiday Travel + Vegan Hostess Gifts

Traveling for the holidays? I was honored to write a guest post for Rosey Rebecca on vegan travel strategies. Be sure to check it out for very simple tips to help make your travel a bit easier.

Going to four a holiday party? I have two perfect, easy holiday treats to take to the numerous gatherings I will be attending over the next few weeks.  My thanks to The Global Vegan and Hungry Hungry Hippie, who I started reading during Vegan MoFo, for these super-quick, super-good treats!

The Cashew Cookie

The Global Vegan recently posted these Bite-Sized Pistachio Cookies and I knew I must try them!  My modifications:  I used cashews instead of pistachios and I sprinkled Sucanat on each cookie.

So yummy!

Carob-Covered Almonds

I posted about these previously but it’s worth repeating!  You must try Hungry Hungry Hippie’s delicious Salty Cocoa Roasted Almonds.

My modifications:  I tripled the recipe, used carob powder instead of cocoa, 3 pinches of Sucanat instead of Stevia, 1 and 1/2 t of salt and mixed in a bowl (instead of shake and bake).

I love these!

A vegan red wine, cozy in a stocking cap and scarf (not wool, crocheted by my Mom), and a jar of carob-covered almonds make a delightful, vegan hostess gift!

What are you taking to holiday parties?
