Got your attention!
I don’t know about you but I’m always perplexed when people assume I’m gluten-free because I’m vegan. Not the same. (I even wrote about it here: I am not a gluten-free vegan.) But clearly many people are confused so let’s go right to the source!
Ricki Heller, a vegan and gluten-free wonder woman, has just released Naturally Sweet and Gluten-Free: Allergy-Friendly Vegan Desserts…
…and I’m hosting her on her book tour! That’s right, on Tuesday, September 24, join Ricki and me for a live, Google+ Hangout at 5:30 pm PST / 6:30 p.m. MST / 8:30 p.m. EST. I promise to ask provocative questions and I know Ricki will answer honestly and with her incredible sense of humor. Since I’m not much of a baker I also plan to prod her for tips to help me use my new oven!
Do you have questions for Ricki about baking and cooking gluten-free? About how she manages living a vegan lifestyle on a gluten-free diet? Let me know in the comments and I promise to ask during the live interview. And RSVP for the Hangout here!

Love the look of Ricki’s new book. As a gluten-free vegan, I have taken to just explaining to people I am gluten-free by necessity, vegan by choice, and generally leave out the fact I also have dairy and egg allergies (unless I am ordering at a restaurant). I really want people to understand that being vegan does not mean also being gluten-free.
Great approach, @ValerieCityLifeEats:disqus!
