I recently wrote a piece for the Colorado Springs Independent about my experience as a New York vegan moving to Colorado Springs: One outsider’s intrepid move into dining plant-based in the Pikes Peak region. There was some interesting criticism in letters to the editor suggesting that the author (me) neglected to focus on ethics. Um, I was hired to write a food piece for the paper yet I still managed to mention PETA and the fact that not only do I not eat animals, I don’t wear them. You’re welcome.
In the article I gave major shout-outs to the veggie Meetup group that helped me acclimate to my new town (I am now honored to serve as Lead Organizer for the group). If you are vegan, vegetarian or veg-curious and looking for community and activities in Colorado Springs, have we got some great events (and education!) for you!
