I don’t know about you but I’m seeing vegan crowdfunding campaigns popping up everywhere – and I love it! You can invest in whatever idea, concept, product, or service that you want and ignore those that you don’t. Kind of like shopping, right?
I have invested in a variety of campaigns which have ranged from clothing, food, jewelry, smart phone app development, new bakeries, festivals, gardening, and more.
There are three campaigns going on right now that I really hope succeed – because each represent the variety of ways one might enter veganism – or consider it.
Education: The 30-Day Vegan Challenge
Colleen Patrick-Goudreau is taking publishing her book into her own hands. The wildly popular book The 30-Day Vegan Challenge is out of print and she wants to bring it back to you – after updating it with great information and fabulous new recipes!
Delicious Vegan Food: Phoney Baloney’s Coconut Bacon NEW FLAVORS Pre-Order!
My friends Kyle and Andrea are knockin’ Phoney Baloney’s Coconut Bacon out of the ballpark and into mainstream stores! This is a chance to get the new flavors, which I know, for a fact, are delicious because I sampled them at Expo West in March!
(Disclosure: I am repping Phoney Baloney’s at Whole Foods Rocky Mountain stores but I will in no way benefit from the success of this campaign.)
Animals: Esther the Wonder Pig Farm Sanctuary
Okay, I think we all know about Esther the Wonder Pig. Now her amazing dads want to build a sanctuary to save animals and educate the public.
And a fourth…
Something Along the Lines of Dating (feature film)
My friend Joshua LaBure (co-owner of vegan grocer Nooch in Denver) is a talented filmmaker and is raising funds to make a feature film.
Is there a vegan crowdfunding campaign going on that you’d like us to know about? Link up in the comments!

Hey, JL! Just wanted you and your fans to be aware of the Circles of Compassion campaign on Indiegogo. It’s in support of a book that will feature essays by 29 prominent vegan authors/speakers, including Will Tuttle, Melanie Joy, Robert Grillo, and Jasmin Singer, and focuses on the connections between humans, animals, and our environment. Please check it out + share + donate! ~~~> http://bit.ly/1i74KPC
Cool, thanks, @robin_ridley:disqus!
I guess I am the last person to be introduced to Ester. She’s very cute & I’m following her on facebook now.
Isn’t she the sweetest, Jamie?!
I think crowd funding is a great way to support veganism. I’ve contributed to about 15 campaigns so far, only 2 have failed to reach funding.
That’s really cool!
