Okay, the title is a misleading. I needed the awesome, raw, vegan food that gets served up at Quintessence in Manhattan that filled my belly. But my lunch date, Gena of Choosing Raw, filled my heart and filled my soul. Gena is someone with whom I can share everything. My hopes, fears, anxieties, and successes. E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G How lucky am I?
We spent nearly two hours catching up on our lives and somehow, in the midst of the flurry of conversation and laughter, we feasted.
I’ve been nursing a nasty summer cold so I started with a hot ginger and lemon drink.
Perfect.
The menu at Quintessence is huge and I didn’t not want to be bothered with decisions. I had a Groupon and I wasn’t afraid to use it, so I opted for the Tuesday Prix Fix special.
And finally, the Pineapple Chocolate Mousse Parfait.
Yeah, it was crazy good.
But 2 hours with Gena? Crazy better.

I spent all week looking forward to this lunch, and will bask in its warm glow for the next week to come. Can’t wait for our next one! Thank gawd for you, and for our friendship. xo
Word.
I would have to think you could sit and eat cardboard for two hours with Gena and it would still be a fabulous lunch. Hope you’re feeling better!
Ha! Agreed!
What an awesome lunch–but how could it not be, with you two as the lunchees?! 🙂
Aw, you are sweet. Wish you were with us!
Hi sweets!!
What a lunch! Everything looks sooo good… I could really go for that Pasta Bolognese!

I’m so happy to see you blogging again!
I can only imagine how amazing that lunch would have been- the company and the food. Now I have another restaurant to add to the (very long) list of places to visit in NYC. Thank you!
Definitely add it to the list! AMAZING!
What joy! Lunch with such a soul sister. Sounds glorious. xo
We would have loved you sitting right there with us, dear one! xo
