Oh. So. Tired. But I still eeked out a video blog post because, hey, simple sauteed greens are, well, simple.
VIDEO NOTES:
- Dave would like to state for the record that he didn’t do something with his Tofurky. He said it sounded naughty. I was too tired to notice.
- Goodness, my new stove gets freakin’ hot! Do this: heat olive oil on medium-high, saute the garlic for just a minute, add kale (or green of choice), lemon juice, a little salt and cover. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let steam for two or three minutes. Add almond slivers, saute for another 30 seconds to a minute, and serve.
- Head of kale. Bunch of kale. Whatever.

Oh my – love you, woman! My favorite part of this is when you mumble about loving Dave for buying the Tofurky and then just chucking it. Hilarious! Also, tell Dave that he knows he did something with his Tofurky and it was probably just as naughty as it sounds 🙂
Make sure you get some rest soon! Muah!
@las_dos_ashleys:disqus, I was a walking zombie yesterday! LOL Dave’s a good sport, Tofurky and all! 🙂 xo
Such a good reminder that we don’t have to many something complicated to make something healthy and tasty on those days when things just aren’t going well time-wise.
Hearing you talk about how next week is the last week was so sad though. I realize 5 videos a week is a lot, but I hope you keep doing occasional videos once September is over!
@b8b66dc38f2ac3cca7c0d98710bdfe61:disqus, I’m really glad you have enjoyed the videos! I have, too, and have found the communication and conversation a nice change from traditional blogging so, yes, I do plan to continue the video element on this blog (just not as often! LOL)
Safe travels!!! And don’t forget to add the lemon juice step to the notes above 🙂
Added! Thank you, @VeggieNextDoor:disqus!
I love simple sautéed kale like that, especially with loads and loads of garlic. I hadn’t thought to add slivered almonds. Good thinking! I used to always add toasted pine nuts, but then their already high price exploded. The price of almonds I could handle!
I’ll grab any nut, @CadrysKitchen:disqus, for sauteed greens, but almonds are a definite favorite!
I love your shirt! Where did you get it?
@wendymoniuk:disqus, I ordered it from Colleen Patrick-Goudreau’s site: http://www.compassionatecook.com/merchandise
