Wanna get married?
Happy Pride Day!
Today I feel so much pride myself. Proud to be a New Yorker. Proud to live in a state that has given the right to my lesbian and gay friends to marry. Because their love for one another is as real and valid as my love for my husband.
So, gay and lesbian readers, if you want to come to New York to get married, I happen to be ordained (I’ve married four couples to date). It would be my privilege!
Raw paté salad
Last week I saw this Shitake Buckwheat Patties recipe on Organic Athlete and just had to make it.
I added a few scoops of this tasty paté to a fresh summer salad.
The bed of salad included red romaine lettuce, fresh thyme, sweet basil and cilantro from my garden. I added chopped sweet pea shoots, radish, tomato, cold-pressed olive oil (raw), juice of half a lime and a few dashes of Herbamere and black pepper to taste. What a fantastic salad!

Congratulations NY!!!
It is SO very WONDERFULL that gays can get married in NY 🙂
In Belgium they can get married for a couple years now (7 or 8 years I think). It should be possible everywhere!
Woo hoo NY!!!
I’m pretty proud of the home state too 🙂 Love the look of that salad. I’ve been really enjoying big, hearty ones lately.
I’m so proud to be a New Yorker, I’m interning this summer so I’ve missed the celebrations, but my friends have told me all about their various celebrations.
Your salad looks amazing, I miss my garden, but I’ll definitely have to try this one!
Very cool on being ordained! And yum, the pate sounds delicious, I need to try it!
How cool that you can perform marriages (and have done so!). So glad to hear that NY finally caught up with Ontario (it’s been legal here since 2003). 😀
And of course your food looks great!
I have noticed it was busy around here. Missed the NO BO BlOW part of it. Cool.
That’s SO awesome you are ordained and I hope you can marry some same sex couple soon! It’s pride here in seattle and we’re all feeling the love.
A good day for NY AND a good day for the rest of the country! It’s just a matter of time.
This looks delicious — I can’t believe I’ve never put a pate on a salad, it seems like such a yummy no brainer!!!
New York rocks, and this is definitely another reason! I’m proud to be from Canada – the fourth country in the world to legalize gay marriage at a national level. Living in Australia, I’m shocked at how progressive things appear here, and yet gay marriage is totally forbidden. A nation will not flourish unless it provides full freedom to all of its citizens. Congrats for being ordained and being able to marry people – that must be such an awesome feeling! That pate sounds amazing, by the way! 🙂
