Recently PureFit invited me to review their vegan PureFit Bars, which are high in protein, gluten-free, all natural and use non-GMO soy (and were named Nutrition Bar of Year by Bike magazine). I was intrigued but, as always, I asked if in return for an honest review of their product they could do something for my readers. PureFit was quite generous and offered a promo code just for you! More on that later…let’s get to the bars!
I’ve been traveling quite a bit this summer and have made a point to pack a PureFit bar to help in “vegan-emergency” situations. I tried the Berry Almond Crunch bar for breakfast when in Pennsylvania. I didn’t love the texture and flavor. It was dry and grainy. The taste didn’t wow me but it was actually a very filling breakfast. I was satisfied for hours.
A few weeks later I was back in Pennsylvania. After a hot, humid run (remember that heat wave?) I was very hungry and knew I wouldn’t be eating lunch for several hours. I ate the Granola Crunch bar and it was much better than the Berry Almond Crunch. I still wasn’t sure about the texture but the I did like the taste.
Last weekend, in San Diego, I went out for a 7 mile (2.5-ish hour) walk and hike. I ate the Almond Crunch bar before the hike. It was delicious! I loved the texture, I loved the taste, and I loved that I never lost my energy during the long workout.
I’m glad I was able to sample a variety of flavors and find one that is delicious and fills me with energy. Almond Crunch for the win!

Very interesting on the bars, thanks for the review. I’m always looking for decent vegan traveling options.
I discovered these recently myself, they are definitely handy to keep around for travel or an emergency snack!
