I couldn’t help myself. I had beautiful sprouted quinoa in the refrigerator that needed to be used up…STAT!

It’s not crazy if it tastes good! 🙂
Hmmm… I’m thinking really hard, but I can’t think of any unusual breakfasts I’ve had…
Good point! Or crazy like a fox! 😉
Nice recipe.
How do you sprout quinoa? how long do you soak it for?
Sprouting quinoa is so easy! I followed suggestions on this site: http://www.sproutpeople.com/seed/print/quinoa.html You only have to soak it for about 30 minutes and the honestly just two rinse and rain cycles and you’re all set!
So tasteful… Dates, agave, banana, quinoa! Delicious!
Yeah, it’s hard to go wrong with those yummy ingredients!
Crazy! But from the list of wonderful ingredients, I’m sure it tastes great! These days I’m just making my morning smoothies as green as possible-bok choy, kale, spinach, cucumber, carrot, celery while decreasing the volume of fruit in them. Gotta keep pushing the envelope!
LOL I have to agree a bit on the crazy 😉 I’m with you, the greener the better on the smoothies!
This looks great and something I’d try, I love adding sprouts to smoothies. Smoothies are my most unusual breakfasts. Because my stomach is usually half awake on week mornings I’ll add cauliflower scraps, pineapple core chunks and other veggies that are nutritious, but not easy to eat raw.
Love the idea of adding cauli (and broccoli?) to smoothies! And sprouts too, because I got a teeny bit sprouted out this week … might be better to finish them off with a different texture 😉
This looks so good. Great idea. Your breakfast doesn’t look at all crazy to me — and that’s a hint to the wacky things I eat (not just for breakfast). Some things are best left unsaid. 🙂
Ha! I hear you, Elizabeth! 😉
Crazy noooo. This is normal 😉 I love this. Well I guess one morning I woke up hanging for a salad so that was my breakfast. I don’t think I ever did it again though hehe.
Thank you for making me feel *somewhat* normal 😉
This may look/sound a little crazy…but those are usually the best! I think my craziest breakfast lately is a smoothie: water, romaine spinach, cacao, and stevia. My next step is to add some sprouts! Quinoa is definitely on my list for that.
Lisa, thank you for stopping by! I love your blog!
Well this certainly is an unusual breakfast, but it looks delicious and super healthy! My most unusual breakfast is probably just a handful of raw almonds – unusual in that most people have something a little more elaborate, even for breakfast. But it makes a great breakfast, I swear.
Almonds are really great to eat a few minutes before exercising, too (when I forget to eat and suddenly realize I need a little workout energy!)
