Hey! Did you get a chance to her Ginny Messina on Easy Vegan yesterday? Unfortunately, Skype was down (worldwide!) so we had to improvise and record the show early, outside of the station. While the sound isn’t terrific, the content is! Listen to the show here to hear Ginny’s thoughts on preventing “ex-vegans”!
Last week I was in Baltimore for Natural Products Expo East. Truth be told, I was really there for the event I produced for The Soyfoods Council:
It was a huge success! Over 80 people attended! The information was excellent, as were the tempeh tastes! I was honored to work with Tofurky and TempehSure on this spectacular event! By the way, Tofurky had an amazing chick’n salad at their Expo booth!
The next day I got to throw myself into the Expo.
I spent a little time at the North Prairie Gold table (another client of mine, Non-GMO extra virgin canola, anyone?).
I loved this Natural Value display of beans, grains, veggies, and fruit (affordable organics for the win)!
I’ve been using Suzanne’s Specialities brown rice syrups since taking a three-day cooking class intensive with Christina Pirello. This vegan ricemellow was delicious!
I was about to hang out with my Boulder Foods pals – makers of Earth Balance – but I client rang me up and I had to step outside. But not before grabbing a bite of their new protein peanut butter.
I was coveting this soymilk maker.
I love Lotus Foods and I love them even more for their focus on women in countries in which rice is grown and harvested.
Speaking of doing good, I picked up a couple Humble Brush biodegradable toothbrushes. Buy one and one is given to kids in need!
From there I played “name that spice” at The Spice Hunter booth (and won a hat!)
And then I basically had lunch at the Follow Your Heart booth. Holy vegan deliciousness! This Parmesan is divine!
As is this spicy wonder. They made a simple potato salad with potatoes, celery and just this. Mmm Mmm.
Back to Nature has some delightful new vegan soups.
Caroline’s is a canned line of veg-foods from Atlantic Natural Foods, which included fantastic vegan tuna and chik’n,
plus these cans of chili and taco filling.
The prize for best presentation and a simple, small expo booth goes to the California Fig Board. Friday the “menu” offering was a vegan fig salami with Kite Hill Cheese and fig sangria.
Obviously I saw and sampled far more than I photographed but this gives you an idea of what one can find at the Expo!
