I have been working on the #SoyInspired Campaign with The Soyfoods Council (you can join us!) and this month we’re sharing information on Textured Soy Protein (TSP), also known as Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP).
When I was a new vegan I loved to play with “meat substitutes” while cooking. TVP was always a great addition to veggie burgers, soups, tacos and more. Of course as I learned more about vegan nutrition I also realized that not only is it a great “substitute,” it’s also a great source of protein in my diet.
TVP is the star of today’s Meatless Monday Meal Plan. Now, of course I’m not suggesting you eat TVP at every meal today – I’m simply providing meal ideas you can enjoy any day of the week!

Yay for soy! One of my favorite things about Vegan for Her is how it does not demonize soy. 🙂 Soy is joy!
Amen.
🙂
Soy IS joy, Bianca!
But isn’t too much soy not good for you. I notice for myself that alot of soy products have a huge amount of salt , lots of preservatives, it’s still processed food and it leaves me gassy especially tofu (sprouted extra firm). I have been a vegan all my life(35) and have cut back on my consumption of soy and eat more real food plant based. I don’t need meatless products (store bought or homemade) with everymeal. Thanks
Actually, @disqus_uakVi4AAlm:disqus, I make a point in this post to say I am not suggesting soy for every meal. The theme is TVP and I give examples of how it can be used in any meal. Soybeans are great for vegans – the highest protein legume! My favorite forms are tofu, edamame, miso, TVP (includes soy curls! yum!) and tempeh. Good and good for me!
