It’s National Chili Day!
I am hoping to find a bowl of vegan Cincinnati-style chili when I arrive there later tonight. Yep, it’s time for the Ohio leg of the book tour!
- I’m teaching a Vegan Pressure Cooking 101 demo class Saturday at 9 am in Cincinnati (attendees are automatically entered to win an electric pressure cooker/multicooker from book tour sponsor Fagor!).
- Sunday evening, in Columbus, I’m teaching a demo class that concludes with a full dinner for everyone.
How about a few chili recipes to celebrate this important culinary day?
Black-Eyed Pea & Collard Green Chili
Asian-Azuki Bean Crockpot Chili
Cranberry Beans and Greens Chili with Creamy Sriracha
And, seriously, if you know of a place in Cincinnati serving up vegan Cincinnati-style chili, please let me know in the comments!

JL, if you can make it to Melt, in the Northside neighborhood of Cincinnati, they have a spectacular vegan chili. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. The menu is not exclusively vegan, but very vegan friendly. Also, right down the street is Happy Chicks, a 100% vegan bakery. The baked goods there will knock your socks off! I’m bummed that I am unable to make it to your presentation at Park + Vine. I hope you enjoy your visit to my adopted hometown.
Sorry to miss you, @terrijonescole:disqus!
