Happy Monday! Did you get a chance to check out my vegan news you can use post yesterday? I really enjoy my Sunday mornings, sipping coffee and scouring the news for vegan tidbits to share with you.
Now it’s the start of a new week– a fun week with only three days of work before traveling for a few days over the holiday. I’m not sure how often I’ll post this week but I do know I can kick things off with a(nother) Candle 79 recap. Last weekend I met up with my Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary friends for a dinner meeting.
I started with the salad of the day, which included spaghetti squash, mache (I had to ask what mache was!), grapefruit and avocado.
I love nuts on a salad. The grapefruit-avocado combo was so good!
I broke out of my box and did not order the Seitan Piccata (shocking right?)…but I still ordered seitan.
Fantastic! Now I have two delicious seitan choices at the restaurant. Actually three because they usually offer a seitan special, too (on this visit it was the walnut-crusted seitan, which I enjoyed on Thanksgiving). The Chili-Grilled Seitan recipe is not in the Candle 79 Cookbook but the Chili-Grilled Tofu is–I just might try the chili sauce recipe on my frozen leftover seitan.
Dessert time!
Yum x 1000. I’m going back just for this. I mean it.

Swoon.
You’re making me seriously consider driving out to NYC just for Candle79! The avocado-grapefruit combo sounds divine.
I <3 you and your seitan love. looks like a loverrrly meal :]
I still haven’t visited Candle’s sister restaurants. Mostly because of the price tags. Glad you enjoyed your meal
Happy HOliday~
