A few months ago I received an email from Morrocco Method, inviting me to sample and review their products. As many of you know, I’ve been on a quest to find compassionate health and beauty products on this vegan journey of mine so I was eager to try out this animal-friendly hair care.

My experience
I should note here that I have very thick hair, it’s grey (read: getting a little drier as I age), and I have my stylist toss in fun stripes of color every few months – I’m currently rocking purple low-lights in my bangs. Due to all of these factors I opted for animal-friendly hair care that addressed normal to dry hair. My friends at Morrocco Method warned me that this hair care routine would be a little different. The all-natural shampoo doesn’t lather and the conditioner didn’t leave the same “moisturized” feeling I typically experience. But I was reminded that Morrocco Method isn’t soap – it’s filled with plants, oils and minerals.
After the first use I styled my hair and battled it just a bit. I combed a little Aragon oil through and I was good to go. My hair looked great. A few days later it was looking even thicker and had a great shine. Confession: I don’t shampoo daily. I wash and condition my hair every two to three days and use a dry shampoo in between. Two months later I can tell you that my hair is looking fantastic. Actually, I can show you.
Straight (ah, Colorado, I love ya) or curly (hello, New York humidity), my hair looks healthy and feels great. I’m a complete convert.
Morrocco Method sent me free sample sizes to try but I am now a paying customer. This is one of the best hair care products I have used!
Today on the Morrocco Method blog I write about how my vegan journey has evolved and share an excerpt from my “Veganism Beyond the Plate” chapter in Vegan for Her. Oh, and Morrocco Method is hosting a giveaway for a copy of the book! Check it out!
