Last I posted, I was wrapping up a trip to New York. I did a presentation and cooking demonstration on Sunday in Tarrytown and had a complete blast.
From there I was off to a book event in Larchmont where I met new friends and had plenty of time to catch up with old friends.
The next morning I was up early and off to the airport. Next stop, Des Moines, Iowa!
Yep, I’ve been in Iowa since Monday and at this very moment I’m at the airport, waiting for my flight home to Colorado. Over the past few days, as a guest of The Soyfoods Council, I’ve learned so much and my head is spinning. I’ll be sharing thoughts soon but in the meantime I’ll pass along some photos from the three-day adventure.
We feasted on fabulous soy-based treats and sipped on wine.
Spicy tofu lettuce wraps, herbed tofu cakes with dipping sauce, mushroom-tofu pockets, vegetarian pinwheels, and herbed tofu dip with veggies.
YUM!
The tour of the kitchen was pretty amazing, too.
The next day we went to Iowa State University, where we attended a variety of lectures and took part in part in making tofu.
My new friend Alex, of Delicious Knowledge, and I made jalapeno tofu!
But I’ll get into all of that later, when I write a full post about the experience. Right now it’s time for me to board a plane and get home to my man and two cats!

Wait, Dave was home alone all that time? I should’ve invited him out mountain biking! (Just kidding… I can’t mountain bike with Dave. I’d make it about .04 miles and then he’d have to call 911 to come get me, hahaha)
Haha, @disqus_OVSwN88GCU:disqus! He was with my in NY – I was solo in Iowa!
