In an uncovered pressure cooker, heat the oil on medium-high. Add the onion and carrots and sauté until the onions are soft, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the seasonings, potatoes, apples, lentils, and broth. Stir to combine.
Cover and bring to pressure. Cook at high pressure for 10 minutes. Allow for a natural release.
Remove the lid, taste and add salt to taste. Serve with freshly ground pepper.
