Vegan Cuisine: A Simple Art (You are invited to a ten course tasting event!)

I love it when big ideas and brainstorming turn into a reality!

Last year I wrote a review about an amazing dining experience at Flow Bar + Restaurant in Jim Thorpe, PA.

Flow is a destination restaurant located in a circa 1800’s stone factory with an underground stream visible from the dining room. Meals are prepared fresh daily to reflect the season with our own in-house bakery.

The chef, upon my request for a vegan lunch, offered this inspired dish.

A bed of quinoa and spring peas   ˜   Massaged kale, sautéed in white wine and tomatoes   ˜   Two squash blossoms stuffed with cabbage and potato prepared in sake, brown sugar, garlic and ginger   ˜   Three sauces to pull in sweet and savory: Thai chili sauce, stewed tomatoes with coconut milk and a sweet curry sauce

In my review I put forth a challenge (okay, a hopeful request) to the brilliant executive chef, Zach, and co-owner of the Stabin Morykin Building, Joan.  “Joan and Zach, if you’re reading, I have an idea:  How about a vegan weekend in your fabulous space?”

Guess what?  They accepted the challenge/request! I started talking to my dear friend Lee (of The Vegan Version), based in Philly, about the concept and she was on board to help make this culinary celebration of plant-based food a reality.

We proudly present:

Vegan Cuisine:  A Simple Art

If you are in Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley, South Jersey, Allentown/Bethelehem, Pocono Mountain, Metro New York City or surrounding areas this is an event that you do not want to miss! I’m driving from metro-NYC for this meal and a Saturday night getaway to a gorgeous little town (carpool?!).
