Adam’s Mountain Cafe reopens at 26 Manitou Avenue!

I have made no secret that of all the Colorado Springs restaurants that provide vegan fare, Adam’s Mountain Cafe tops my list of favorites.

Two words: Senegalese vegetables.

Six more words: over udon noodles with sesame tofu.

I am so blown away by this bowl of everything-right-in-the-world that I deemed it the best vegan dish in the area in my recent InSider piece for the Colorado Springs Independent.

Last summer Adam’s Mountain Cafe suffered greatly during a flash flood (the result of the Waldo Canyon burn scar from the wildfires). The staff and community rallied and they reopened swiftly. Shortly after owner Farley McDonough made it clear it was time for Adam’s to move and she had her eyes on the Pancake and Steak House, further east but still in Manitou (and closer to Old Colorado City, two miles closer to my home, though I suspect that was not her motivation).

Farley’s vision became a reality. Last night, after closing the business for only nine days to move, Adam’s Mountain reopened at 26 Manitou Avenue!

With the reopening there are a few new features, such as

New hours

Monday: 8am – 3pm
Tuesday – Saturday: 8am – 3pm and 5pm – 9pm
Sunday: 8am – 3pm

New drinks

Smoothies and juices
A Saison draft from Woodland Park’s Paradox Beer Company
A new red Zinfandel on the wine list

New parking

Free parking! Lots of parking! No battling summer tourists in downtown Manitou! (I’m excited.)

Same awesome staff

I have a special connection to Sam, Marisa, Nancy, and Audrey. These women make our dining experience perfection every single time we visit. They are funny, attentive, always remember that I want vegan anything, and treat us like family.

Congratulations to Farley and her team for overcoming the storm and rising up bigger, bolder and better than ever!

  1. My mom lives in Manitou! It will be nice to know there’s a place I can get some good food the next time I visit her. Thanks for sharing!
