Weekly Round-up: Recipes, The Blissful Chef visits and a blog refresh!

It was a busy week around here!

MONDAY

On the same day that I posted a new split-pea soup recipe on my own blog

and The Blissful Chef posted my new Gingered Asparagus & Leeks (roasted or raw!) recipe on her blog!

WEDNESDAY

The fabulous Julie of Savvy Eats began the process of moving my blog to self-hosting and, along the way, designed a playful new look and an easier interface for you to find your way around.

What’s new on the blog?

  • Printable recipes courtesy of Recipage.  You can also email or text recipes to review later, as well as Tweet or “like” the recipes on Facebook.
  • New posts can be emailed directly to your inbox.

THURSDAY

The Blissful Chef joined the Vegan 101 Series!  Christy Morgan’s post A Newbie’s Guide to Seasonal Eating and Cooking offers great tips on how to plan meals around seasonal foods.  I love her video describing her own process.

SATURDAY

I shared a Raw Carrot-Banana Cake recipe using carrot pulp.

Thank you so much for reading!  I hope you’re enjoying the new look and feel of the blog!

  1. The new look is so colorful and organized! Well done! Looking at your header, I don’t think I’ll be able to come to your blog and not make a green smoothie afterward. 🙂

    1. Thank you — I want the comments back on the old posts! Hope we can figure that out. I need to take a look at Ani’s book (I have Raw Food Essentials) for a carrot cake recipe. Good idea!

  2. I thought I commented on your new look in your raw carrot cake post, but it looks like I didn’t after all. The new site looks great, I love all the new features and your photos are looking so beautiful! 🙂

  3. WOW, JL! I’m away for a week and a half and look at you! I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new look of your blog! These recipes look absolutely amazing! Right up my alley…I’m salivating as I type! I see some things I can possibly make for Easter! 🙂 I have always considered your blog my go-to site for new and fun recipes. 🙂 Now that I am grounded in California…I can resume my blog reading and posting! Kudos, JL!

    1. Thank you, twin-JL! I enjoyed reading about your travels and am sure you’re delighted to be in your own kitchen! (Saw your reply to my comment on HH… go to BlogHer! We’ll have fun!)
