Today you can hear me on Our Hen House! (Hello from BlogHer12!)

Timing is everything!

I am attending the BlogHer.com annual conference in Manhattan, as is the wonderful Jasmin Singer, co-founder and executive director of Our Hen House (she presented yesterday!).  Last night Jasmin and I went out for dinner (to tea house Franchia Vegan Cafe) and enjoyed lots of great food, including these steamed Kimchi Dumplings.

They were as good as you think they were.

This morning I am with Jasmin – and Mariann! – on Our Hen House!

I hope you’ll take some time to listen to Episode 134: “If you want to know where you would have stood on slavery before the Civil War, don’t look at where you stand on slavery today. Look at where you stand on animal rights.”  To say I am honored to be interviewed by these incredible women is an understatement.  They were mentors to me as a new vegan before I ever met them – through their weekly Our Hen House podcast – helping shape my thinking on how to be an activist for animals.  We talk about that today on the podcast, covering topics ranging from food as activism to body image to ways in which you can use your own skills and talents to serve as an animal rights activist.  You can listen to the podcast on the Our Hen House site or on iTunes.

I hope you will subscribe to the weekly Our Hen House podcast so that you, too, can learn about how to change the world for animals.
