Portland / Vida Vegan Con #6: The Galarama

by JLgoesVegan on September 1, 2011

After a full first day of the conference, it was party time! Hundreds of vegans dressed up, dressed down and ready to eat, drink and be merry!

My first stop was the bar (naturally) where I grabbed a glass of The Vegan Vine Red Blend and then stood in the very long (but efficient!) food line.  It was one of my favorite vegan buffet experiences, ever!

Sizzle pizza, Gardein burger, Thai roll and a raw wrap. Fabulous.

Ready for a shocking confession? There was an incredible Coconut Bliss table where you could make your own ice cream sundae.   I was so stuffed (Gee, yeah think? After four days of vegan feasting I should hope so!) that I skipped it. But I didn’t skip a second glass of wine.

I had a chance to chat up some of my favorite people.

Geanna of Green Vegan Living

Elisa of Veggie Goes Vegan (and co-founder of BlogHer.com!)

Grant of The Oregonian, who wrote this great article on Vida Vegan Con.

Danielle of A Vegan Food Snob

And Sean of Fat Gay Vegan, who is writing a piece for Stop Chasing Skinny (nudge, nudge, Sean!)

After lots of gabbing we were turned on to something very cool  Flipbooks!  Oh yeah, we got in line, and fast!

Lisa and Nicole made their Flipbook

Megan and Christy made theirs

And Gena and I made ours.

Oh. Yes. We. Did.  (It was naughtier live, trust me.)

How did the night end? Well, I’ve never met a dance floor I didn’t want to be on.

That’s me, grooving with Nicole and Crissie

Then I went to bed.

you are one ACTIVE gal! i love that you are not just another healthy living or vegan 20-something blogger. i love seeing people who are a bit older than me living such an active and healthy life. something to aspire to. sorry if this made you feel old, what i am saying is you are not letting an age define you at all. you are awesome to be dancing probably harder and faster than the 20-somethings. ;-)

How awesome that you made a flipbook video! I should try that! And I considered skipping the ice cream bar, but then thought, what the hell? I was so stuffed after my sundae, and THEN, I went to Food Fight for the sandwich shop. Ridiculous. Just ridiculous.

A vegan buffet sounds like heaven!!! And all that food looks delicious. Too full to pass up vegan sundaes? It sounds too good to be true!

    • http://jlgoesvegan.com JL

Trust me, one of my biggest regrets is passing up the sundae bar!
