Good snowy morning!
Last night I drove upstate to attend a party celebrating the opening of The Guesthouse at the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. It was a fabulous event (Jenny Brown’s artichoke dip rocked and so did the carrot cupcakes made by a local supporter)! As the party was winding down I climbed the stairs to The Olivia Room–to enjoy my first stay at the charming guesthouse. Within 10 minutes under the covers I suddenly had two bedmates.
Get your mind out of the gutter! It wasn’t a swinger party! My bedmates were the two Guesthouse cats, Errol and Leon. Total love bugs! (Don’t worry, you are not required to sleep with cats when you stay at the WFAS Guesthouse, but if you do want to, just leave your door cracked open).
After a wonderful night’s sleep this was my view when I awoke.
Gorgeous, right? I love knowing the animals are warm and cozy in their barns on this frigid (10 degrees F) morning.
I’m lounging in bed, sipping coffee, hanging out with E & L (that’s how I fondly refer to the cats now that we’ve slept together–oh, and Leon is super-jealous of my laptop and has pushed it off my lap twice so that he could curl up on my lap) and enjoying the quiet, snowy morning. Later I’ll be volunteering for a few hours, in my role as a WFAS board member. Before I head home I hope to give Kayli the cow a big kiss and my girl Clover the goat a big hug. I also want to meet Star and check in on Seth and Samuel–the newest goats to the farm.
